Art of Travel - Sita

FROM THE MD's DESK

Hello!

FROM THE CEO DESK

Dear Travel Professional,

Travel to India is what travel stories are made of…there is a very valid reason why we say this, because something is always happening in Incredible India. A feast, a fast, a fair and of course festivities like Diwali which is just around the corner, I need not remind you, it’s my favourite time – think I mention it every year !

I was recently part of an interesting programme, Champions of Change where The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi met 200 CEOs from different sectors, to seek our views on subjects including job growth, income enhancement and improving economic growth. After completion of the deliberations, we made presentation to the Prime Minister on action points which could be incorporated in the 15-Year Vision Document. Meaningful two day session and fun as well.

We have had an eventful past couple of days at Sita with a refresher session being conducted on Class by Sita. The Level of Service is an active element of Sita's differentiation strategy, Class By Sita focuses on this level of service where we never stop building a stronger and quality oriented organisation.

Next month, we look forward to the weather getting pleasant, the best time to enjoy Delhi’s tangy local street food while exploring this and so much more with Sita.

Regards

Dipak Deva
Managing Director

STAY AT

KAAFILA | Beyond the last hotel

Stay At

‘Kaafila’ means a caravan train and the idea behind the camp is to explore the many extraordinary but remote natural and man-made sites in India that remain beyond the established tourist trails and far from any tourist hotels. Unlike most mobile camps which move locations and then go static for several days or weeks, Kaafila is light-footed, can move between locations very swiftly for genuinely off-the- beaten-track itineraries, making for a truly bespoke, tailor-made, exclusive holiday – which is unique – because your clients will not find it in any brochure or tourist map. There is no minimum group size and the tents can be put up for either a couple or 8 people.

STORIES FROM THE ROAD

A morning in Kutch, Gujarat

Stories from the Road

By Kuntil Baruwa. Explorer –in –Residence, Destination Knowledge Centre

“Another weaver. You sure you want me to go? How is he different from the weaving we saw at Bhujodi ?” I asked my Guide when we were discussing our plans for the next day.

My Guide said – “Yes, another weaver and the only one in his village. Ramji Maheshwari from Sumrasar. Remember the person who invited us for Fafda Jalebi breakfast yesterday ?”

I was a bit tentative about meeting a weaver again who would be no different from what I had witnessed and experienced in Bhujodi. But the idea of a delicious smelling breakfast of piping hot crisp Fafdas and syrupy golden Jalebis with endless glasses of Chaas (Butter Milk) was way too tempting. Plus, he was the only weaver in the entire village, which for some strange reason sounded inviting. “ Let’s go,” – I said.
