Efkay's Homestay,
Mysore - A luxurious oasis in the heart of Mysore

Set in 3 acres of well-manicured gardens, Efkay’s homestay is the perfect pad to explore the cultural city of Mysore. Located in the heart of Old Mysore the homestay is a 10 minutes’ drive from the famed Amba Vilas Palace and walking distance to the zoo. Your gracious hosts Raian, Jyotsna and little Farishtey along with fifty (Great Dane) and Pesi (Dalmation) will make your stay even more joyful with their stories and suggestions. The former residence of Raian’s mother and brother, the roomy interiors are a blend of European and modern succinct architecture. The décor is very elegant and houses period furniture. While Raian and his family do not reside in this 3 bedroom home, they are right across this homestay in their residence.

The 3 suites, set around the dining area, are spacious and simplistic yet packed with memorabilia. The King Suite, Fergie, largest of the three comes with a hall/lounge and a room with a dressing room adjoining the comfortably sized bathroom. The other 2 suites of similar size, Yazdan and Maurice, have a room and a dressing room adjoining the comfortably sized bathroom. While Fergie and Maurice have king-size beds, Yazdan can be converted to cater to guests wanting twin beds. All three suites offer a private sit out. All rooms also come equipped with an intercom.

The dining area is set alongside the lounge and a small waterfall which sets the perfect ambience for a relaxing meal. The table can accommodate 6 people at once. Their chef cooks up some fresh and delightful local, Anglo-Indian, Parsi and fusion fare which are delectable. There is also a superbly well-stocked bar which has an adjoining sit-out. While breakfast is served as part of the stay, guests are advised to intimate the hosts in case they are planning to stay for lunch or dinner at least 5 hours prior.

Upon prior request, Raian would be happy to arrange a day at the races or the nearby golf course. They also have an indoor gymnasium for those who would like to keep up their daily regime. For those who would like to enjoy a massage in the privacy of their room, they have a portable massage table and a masseuse can be made available on prior request. They also have a pool at the back of the property which is not very private as there are residences on the other side of the fence - they plan to plant more trees to cover the open patches to make it more private. Drinks and snacks can be served by the pool on request.

It is important to be informed that at night the main door to the residence is locked for safety purposes. However, guests can always use the door adjoining the bar or the door to their sit-out to step out early in the morning or later in the evening.
