Established in 1963, today Sita, a brand of Travel Corporation India Ltd. is a step-down subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited; renowned and trusted for its outstanding value, reliability and financial stability.

1963

Sita’s first office was set up in New Delhi. The company has since worked consistently to be known worldwide as a reliable and efficient Travel and Tourism Company with integrity and best-quality service.

1972

Sita took the initiative and started its first overseas office in Paris, followed by Milan, Frankfurt, London, New York, Stockholm, Barcelona and Lisbon.

1982

Sita extended its operations and services to include Sri Lanka.

1984

With the opening of a Nepal office, Sita became the only agency with presence in three SAARC countries.

1993

Sita became a fully owned Indian public limited company and came to be known as Sita World Travel (India) Ltd.

1994

A team of nearly 800 trained travel professionals offered round the clock service, throughout a vast network of 30 branch offices located at important tourist destinations in the region, with utmost dedication and commitment.

1995

For the past 2 decades the company achieved a spectacular growth rate. The foreign exchange earnings showed an impressive and unprecedented increase as well.

2015

Sita became a fully owned subsidiary of Thomas Cook India Limited, which is owned by Fairfax Financial Holdings, a Toronto based financial services holding company.

2024

Today Sita is India’s leading Destination Management Company and most awarded Travel Company in India.
